By day I’m an environmental chemist, analyzing water quality for the State of CT, and in my spare time I am a mixed media artist, casting cement and resin home decor that I decorate using various techniques.
Using silicone molds that I cast, I pour cement or resin items that incorporate hand painted intricate mandala patterns with mica powders, glitter, lights and bling, found beach-y items, with pressed flowers. Kids (adults too!) love my resin keychain alphabet letters and barrettes.
I have been creating artwork and craft in various mediums throughout my life. I have worked throwing pottery, making jewelry, and in a candle factory. I think my previous experiences have created a unique amalgamation of skill and knowledge that makes my art unique. For instance, in college I took botany class that taught me how to press flowers and now I apply that knowledge to my resin work.
