Afternoon Poetry Readings at the BACA Gallery

April is National Poetry Month. BACA invites you to enjoy an afternoon of poetry with readings by members of the Connecticut River Poets, a collective of poets from the Connecticut River Valley area:
Gwen Gunn of Guilford, author of Tastes; Sara Ingram of Deep River, Sound of House and Wood; Mary Guitar of Lyme, editor of Where the River Bends; Lorraine Reiss, Poet Laureate of Haddam, author of Still Life with Wings; Margaret Gibson, State of Connecticut Poet Laureate, 2019 – 2022, and author of The Glass Globe, winner for the Connecticut Book Award, 2022

Intuitive Collaging Workshop
March 28th, 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Intuitive Collaging is a fun and creative way to explore your inner world. Using your intuition and imagination, you will create collage cards that represent unique aspects of who you are. Based on “Soul Collaging,” this workshop led by Rev. Kathryn King, LCSW will help you explore the creative part of your brain often neglected in our busy lives. Join with others in beginning a journey of self-discovery through collaging.

New Documentary Screening: ‘The oystering life’

Presented by BACA and the Branford Historical Society, ‘The Oystering Life’ is a feature-length video documentary by director Steve Hamm and editor Scott N. Amore that tells the story of Oystering along the Connecticut Coast, from the early days of native Americans and European settlers, through years when oysters were in abundance, its collapse in the early 20th century, to oyster’s remarkable revival today.
