My love of the arts started at a young age. I won awards in high school and later took art courses during and after college. My inspiration comes from Mother Nature and her glorious color palette, shapes and textures. When working in watercolor, my style is loose, atmospheric and semi-abstract. I love to add textures for added visual interest and movement. I also work in acrylics, which is a totally different style and process. I find my paintings are more realistic when painting in acrylics. I have a thing for trees and have done several birch tree paintings using acrylics and resin, two of which were commissions. I am continually trying new techniques and styles in this medium.
It is especially fulfilling when someone looks at one of my paintings and they tell me it sparks a fond memory of someone or a place they have been.
